Abstract: Purpose -To assess the reproducibility and agreement of anterior chamber angle measurements between the anterior segment optical coherence tomography and scheimpflug camera based tomography in normal eyes . Methods - Prospective observational study including a total of 306 eyes of 153 healthy volunteers were included in this study. Anterior chamber angle was measured with AS-OCT and Scheimpflug camera based tomography. Agreement among the devices was analysed using mean differences (bias) and Bland-Altman analysis with 95% limits of agreement (LoA) . Results -Values of ACA measured by AS-OCT and Scheimpflug camera based tomography were similar, and their results were also not significantly different between.......

Abstract: Background: Several researches are going on to find out a suitable method to increase the duration of anaesthesia time during upper limb surgery by supraclavicular approach in brachial plexus block. Thus, the aim of the present study is to compare the onset and duration of sensory and motor block and analgesia in case of dexamethasone, dexmedetomidine and normal saline (control) added to local anaesthesia in supraclavicular brachial plexus block. Materials and Methods: Here three groups were taken each with 30 patients (i) Control: bupivacaine (0.25%) 38ml with 2ml of normal saline. (ii) Group DM: bupivacaine (same dose) with dexmedetomidine 100μg (2ml); and (iii) Group DS: bupivacaine (same dose) dexamethasone 8mg (2ml). The onset and duration of sensory and motor block and analgesia were......

Abstract: Chondroblastoma is a rare, benign primary cartilage producing tumour of bone that accounts for approximately 1% of bone tumours. The usual sites are the epiphyseal ends of long bones. Herewith we report a case of a 13 year old male with pain and swelling in right foot since eight months. It was diagnosed radiologicallyas chondroblastoma of calcaneus and was confirmed on histopathology. Chondroblastoma of calcaneus is a rare tumour at a rare site and should always be included in the tumours involving calcaneum......

Abstract: Breast cancer is among the most common diagnoses found on daily female patient treatment lists at Regional Cancer Centre, Raipur. One of the primary treatment modalities prescribed for women diagnosed with breast cancer is radiotherapy. Radiotherapy has been demonstrated to lengthen survival time, to improve localized tumor control, and to reduce mortality. All these invaluable medical benefits are not without physical and psychological costs. From the physical perspective, breast cancer radiotherapy is most often related to fatigue and skin toxicity. Thus it becomes important at our part to understand what type of toxicity to expect from radiation for breast cancer while using different types of radiation techniques. The purpose of this study was to understand acute skin.......

Abstract: Background: Aerobic capacity of an athlete is an important element of success in sport achievements. It is functional capacity of an organism to raise the level of metabolic process in keeping with the requirement of physical effort being exposed to. Anaerobic capacity is the ability to mobilize energy during activities of intensive nature i.e. executing intensive work with explosive action in short duration of time, such as , kicking the football faster and for explosive take off in jumps etc. Both aerobic and anaerobic capacities play an important role in influencing the performance in various games and sports. . Aim: To estimate the values of Aerobic capacity, anaerobic capacity in Football players, Judo players and control group.....

Abstract: Background: Vitellaria paradoxa is a popular tree with several applications in folkloric medicine. Concoction of different parts of the V. paradoxa have been used in the treatment of bacterial, viral and fungal infections. Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) are the central cells of the immune system and are responsible for adaptive immunity. This study evaluated the cytotoxic effect of aqueous stem bark extract of V. paradoxa on PBMCs. Materials and Methods: Thirty (30) apparently healthy volunteers were recruited for this study. PBMCs were harvested using Histopaque 1077 and suspended in 2ml Rose well Park Memorial Institute culture Media (RPMI-1640). The cells were treated with various concentrations (25μg/ml, 50μg/ml, 100μg/ml and 1000μg/ml) of V. paradoxa stem bark extract. Cells Viability was determined using trypan blue exclusion method. Results and Conclusion: The result indicated.......

Abstract: Background: Antihistamines having H-1 receptor blocking properties are one of the preferred agents for treatment of allergic symptoms of various dermatological disorders . There are guidelines which allow rational use of these drugs. But a significant number of these agents are prescribed irrationally. To strengthen rational use periodic assessment of prescribing patterns may modify therapeutic effectiveness and unwanted adverse drug reactions. Materials and Methods: A prospective observational study was carried out for a period of 3 months in the outpatient Department of Dermatology of Government Medical College Hospital, Raigarh. The prescriptions having at least one H1 Antihistamine.....

Abstract: Tuberculosis, caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis bacilli, is one of the oldest known communicable diseases in the world. TB recognized by WHO as a "Global Emergency"1, affects more than one third of the population globally2 and is the world's second most common cause of death from infectious diseases after HIV/ AIDS.3 India is classified to be among those with a high burden of the disease. The average prevalence of all forms of tuberculosis in India is estimated to be 5.05 per thousand.4 TB, can involve different systems in the human body including the hematopoietic system . Both myeloid and lymphoid cell lines and plasma components are affected.5 Reversible hematological abnormalities are associated with pulmonary tuberculosis. TB causes profound bone marrow and peripheral blood abnormalities by interfering with normal hematopoiesis and is associated with peripheral blood abnormalities such as anemia, increased.....

Abstract: Helicobacter pylori infection is usually acquired in early childhood and related to numerous upper gastrointestinal disorders. Based on regional prevalence estimates, there were approximately 4.4 billion individuals (More than Half) with H pylori infection worldwide in 2015. This study was performed for the determination of antibodies of seroprevalence of H.pylori in people attends Al-Mutawakel Specialized Hospital, Al-Khoms, Libya. Total of 268 cases who attend Al-Mutawakel Specialized Hospital from October 2018 to March 2019 were involved in this study. Seropositivity of IgM and IgG were diagnosed with the standard ELISA kits. Like other developing countries, there is a high rate of infection of H. pylori during the study period. This rate should be reduced by taking:......
