Abstract: Aim: To study the role of nonsurgical management of orbital lesions. Material and methods:This retrospective interventional case series comprises of 56 cases among 104 cases of orbital diseases which were managed non-surgically at the department of ophthalmology of a tertiary care hospital during October 2015 to June 2019. The management strategies included medical management including IV Pulse Steroids for TAO with inflammation or medical optic nerve decompression, Oral steroids, antibiotics, and observation. Results: There was a significant improvement with IV Pulse steroids in TAO patients. Medical management has a significant role in Nonspecific orbital inflammation, IGG4, Cysticercosis, and orbital Cellulitis. The majority of orbital fractures were managed without surgery. Conclusions: More than half the cases of proptosis and orbital fractures were managed without surgery. Nonsurgical management of orbital lesions has a significant role.

Abstract: Background: HemovigilanceProgramme is a part of pharmacovigilance as blood is also considered as a drug. Hemovigilance is a system that include monitoring, identification, reporting, investigating and analysis of adverse events related to transfusion and manufacture of blood products. It was launched in 2012.This study is planned to know the knowledge, attitude, practice of hemovigilance among post-graduates. Materials and Methods: : In this cross-sectional study ,questionnaire was pre-validated and designed for assessing the Knowledge, attitude, practice of post-graduates regarding transfusion reaction reporting and were distributed among 120 post-graduates in King George Hospital, Visakhapatnam, AndhraPradesh. Results:Total 120 post-graduates were included in the study. All the post-graduates had knowledge about transfusion reactions. Only 15% of the post-graduates had knowledge that transfusion reactions can be prevented, 20% of the post-graduates....

Abstract: Background: Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is the most common metabolic complication leading to macrosomia. This study was aimed to evaluate accuracy of fetal subcutaneous soft tissue thickness in predicting macrosomia among neonates delivered by the women with GDM. Materials and Methods This hospital based prospective study was carried out in a tertiary care teaching hospital of Karnataka. A total of 50 women with GDM referred for routine ultrasound scan during the period from August 2019 to November 2019 were subjected to estimation of fetal abdominal soft tissue thickness (FASTT) and sub scapular soft tissue thickness (SSSTT) by ultrasound....

Abstract: Introduction: Acute appendicitis is the most common surgically correctable cause of abdominal pain, the diagnosis of which remains difficult in many instances. Some of the signs and symptoms can be subtle to both the clinician and the patient and may not be present in all instances. Materials and Methods: This study was conducted on patients presenting with pain in the right lower quadrant of Abdomen, lasting fewer than 7 days who after clinical examination were provisionally diagnosed to have acute appendicitis and were admitted in Prathima Institute of Medical Sciences, Karimnagar in the study period of June 2011 to September2014.Modified Alvarado score was applied on all these patients. Results: Group 1: twenty two patients were in.......

Abstract: Background: Dental photography in the recent times has become a forerunner in diagnosis and treatment planning due to its low cost and less technique sensitivity. The importance of clinical photography in orthodontics mainly focuses on facial esthetics. Materials and methods: In this cross sectional study, true size frontal face photograph was taken for 180 subjects of aged 17 to 30 years with different growth pattern which was defined by Jarabak ratio and GoGn to Sn angle in normodivergent, hypodivergent and hyperdivergent group. Various transverse facial dimensions were measured in adobe Photoshop software CS3 version.....

Abstract: The histopathological spectrum of skin disorder is varied whereas clinical presentation is restricted to only a few changes such as hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation, macules, papules and nodules.(1)Accurate diagnosis is important for different skin disorders presenting with similar type of lesions(1).For the purpose of diagnosis and planning of treatment ,skin punch biopsy is the standard primary procedure.Histopathological examination plays a significant role and it is the gold standard in arriving diagnosis.
