Abstract: Gall bladder perforation is a rare and may be life threatening. It may be a complication of acute calculus or acalculuscholecystitis.Generalised Peritonitis, localized peritonitis, residual sequelae of silent perforation identified during elective surgery are the three clinical presentations of this condition. Generalised peritonitis warrants exploration, clinical course in localised peritonitis determines an operative or conservative management or local intervention.Peroperative findings dictate management in during elective surgery in cases of silent perforation. Optimal outcomes for structured protocol in managing consecutive cases in each of the three sets in a tertiary care hospital have been studied..

Abstract: Introduction: The methodology of teaching is of three types. "Adhyapana" refers to "act of teaching" or the "teacher reads". "Adhyayan" is "self-learning" or the "student reads". "Sambhasa" or "Tatva vidya" refer to "discussion". Types of learning are again of three types: informative learning, formative learning and transformative learning. Informative learning produces experts. Formative learning produces professionals. Transformative learning in the context of health education produces leaders with global connection. Millers pyramid of competence evolves the steps in learning as knows, knows how, does and teaches how. The aim of the vertical integrated teaching programme on pregnancy induced hypertension was to enable students to comprehend and teach (sambhasa) pregnancy induced hypertension with firm and reinforced understanding of pathophysiology, biochemical markers.....

Abstract: Introduction: Anatomy is an important subject in medical sciences. The knowledge of structure of the human body from the naked eye appearance (gross anatomy) down to molecular level is fundamental to understanding its function and how both structure and function are modified by disease processes. A decline and dearth of anatomy lecturers to match the number of medical schools and increasing student populations has been reported in USA and India. More medical schools are springing up in Nigeria. Materials and Methods: The present study was carried out in Kurnool Medical College, Kurnool, AP. A total of two hundred undergraduate students were selected......

Abstract: Introduction: Cobalamine is required mainly for two important conversion reactions in the body1.for methyma-lonylcoA isomerization, 2.for methylation of homocysteine. Deficiency of these two reactions in the body has widespread implications. While the deficiency of folic acid in sickle cell anemia has been comprehensively stu-died, vitamin b12 has been widely overlooked leading to undefined morbidity patterns Material and methods: seventy patients with sickle cell disease were selected for the study.50 were males and 20 females.Complete blood counts, hemograms, vitamin b12 and folic acid levels were obtained and compared with 100 controls. Patients were devided into two groups......

Abstract: Background: Positioning of the patients head and neck for best visualization of glottis is the prime need before laryngoscopy and intubation. The study was conducted to compare traditional sniffing position with head elevation/neck flexion position to find out which position provides better laryngoscopy and intubation in patients undergoing elective surgery under general anaesthesia. Materials and Methods: One hundred patients were randomly allocated to two groups. In Group I (n=50), laryngoscopy was done in sniffing position, while in Group II (n=50), laryngoscopy was done in simple head extension with head flat on operating table. Glottic visualization was assessed by Cormack-Lehane grading and Intubation Difficulty Scale........

Abstract: Survival after curative surgery in advanced carcinoma is not so promising. Even after use of chemotherapy, radiation therapy the goals are not met. So it is the tumour biology which is important and the future would be probably biological therapy. Considering western data on stomach cancer molecular profile Her2neu would be promising marker for target therapy to be considered. But the fact has not been adequately tested in Indian scenario and the present study does not support routine testing of Her2neu in cases of stomach cancer considering financial aspect of Indian patient population as well as rate of its positivity in various samples of gastric cancer tissue.........

Abstract: Dentigerous cyst is the most common type of cyst encountered in a dental practice. Though, it is commonly encountered entity in the second and third decade of life, cases have been reported in the first decade of life, too. It may be symptomatic or asymptomatic and is diagnosed on routine examination. The treatment modality depends on the size and location of the cyst. For a smaller cyst not approximating the vital structures, enucleation is carried out. If there is a risk of damage to vital structures in a large cystic lesion, marsupilisation is carried out. This case report presents a case of lateral dentigerous cyst in a 10 year old female associated with unerupted premolar. Enucleation of the cystic lesion was carried out without extracting the unerupted tooth. A seven month follow up revealed eruption of the tooth in the oral cavity with no signs of recurrence..

Abstract: Introduction: Menstrual cycle include changes that occur at intervals in the uterus, ovaries, vagina during reproductive age to make procreation possible. The biological activity of the menstrual cycle is regulated by coordination between hypothalamic, pituitary and ovarian hormones. Many females suffer from dysmenorrhea, painful cramping sensation in the lower abdomen during menstruation. Reproductive hormones primarily estrogen, modulate cardiovascular function through a number of mechanisms, including induced activation of hypothalamic pituitary adrenal and sympatho-adreno-medullary systems and also through direct vasodilatory effect on the blood vessels. There appears to be a correlation between the hormonal levels in females and the ANS control of their cardiac activity. This study was designed to determine the effect of different phases of menstrual cycle on various physiological...........
