Abstract: Background: The foramen spinosum is described as lying in the greater wing of sphenoid, posterolateral to foramen ovale, perforating the base of the spine of sphenoid. The middle meningeal vessels and the meningeal branch of mandibular nerve enters the middle cranial fossa through this foramen. Aim: The aim is to conduct a morphological and morphometric study of foramen spinosum of the base of adult human skull. Materials and methods: A prospective observational study was carried out over a period of six months from 1/5/18 to 30/11/18 on 30 human adult skulls obtained from the department of Anatomy,RIMS, Ranchi. Fully intact, dried, adult.........

Abstract: Background: Majority of humeral shaft fractures were treated by conservative treatment using splints, hanging arm cast, braces compromising anatomical reduction in view of wide range of movement of shoulder and elbow joint. Materials and Methods: Patients with fracture of humerus admitted in at RIMS,Kadapa from January 2016 to May2017 were taken up for the study after obtaining consent. Results:This is a prospective study with age incidence varied from 21-40 years (65%)with male predominance (70%), with type A3 as the commonest fracture(50%) involving the mid shaft (70%) of humerus, underwent open reductionand internal fixation using locking compression plate..

Abstract: Objective: To develop a cost-effective diagnostic method for cervical radiculopathy (CR) by evaluating the impact of functional instabilities in theoutcome measures, biomarkers, and upper-extremities.
Methods: Separate analyses for each participant suffering with CR for 4.74±1.82yrs (experimental group; n=117; 51.84±7.15yrs) and without CR (control group; n=117; 52.86±7.52yrs) were performed in relation with theaberrant outcome measures (Upper extremity functional index,Numeric pain rating scale, Patient-specific functional scale, Neck disability index, and Body mass index); biomarkers (C-reactive protein, Creatine kinase-muscle, and Aldolase-A); and upper-extremities (angles of cervical flexion, extension, and rotation; bilateral angles of shoulder flexion, extension, abduction; and diameters of forearm 8cm below the acromion-clavicular)........

Abstract: IHD is a consequence of reduced coronary blood flow secondary to obstructive atherosclerotic vascular disease. Triglycerides are routinely measured in the fasting state. Atherosclerosis may be a postprandial phenomenon in which remnant lipoproteins play a dominant role. If this is true, increased levels of non-fasting triglycerides, reflecting increased levels of remnant lipoproteins, may predict risk of myocardial infarction (MI), ischemic heart disease (IHD), and death. The aim of this study was to evaluate and compare the values of fasting and non-fasting serum lipid profile among patients of coronary artery disease. This is a cross sectional study, conducted in the Department of Biochemistry in collaboration with the Department of Cardiology, RIMS. The study population.......

Abstract: Background: Blunt injury abdomen is most commonly caused by Road traffic accidents.1 The rapid increase in number of motor vehicles accidents has caused rapid increase in number of victims of blunt abdominal trauma. Motor vehicle accidents account for 75-80% of blunt abdominal trauma.2 Blunt abdominal injury is also a result of fall from height, assault with objects, industrial mishaps, sports injuries ,bomb blast and fall from riding bicycle.2 Objective: To study and evaluate the etiological, clinical factors and different findings in laparotomy influencing the outcome following blunt injury abdomen.......

Abstract: Objectives- The clinical presentations of brain and spinal cord tumors are often non-specific. Their prognosis mostly depends on early and timely correct diagnosis. Radiological imaging is probably the only diagnostic method with good sensitivity and specificity for critical detection and diagnosis. In this study we have studied the spectrum of imaging findings of malignant brain and spinal cord tumors presented in our institute and retrospectively evaluated the imaging features that may help in early diagnosis and treatment of those conditions and improve the quality of life.......

Abstract: Introduction and Aim: Peripheral arterial disease (PAH) is an ischemic manifestation of atherosclerotic stenosis or occlusion of the lower extremity arteries. Noninvasive diagnostic methods for PAH include Ankle Brachial Index (ABI). ABI is the ratio of the highest brachial systolic blood pressure to the highest systolic blood pressure in both ankles. ABI in the diagnosis of PAH; hand Doppler and sphygmomanometer. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between risk factors of peripheral arterial disease and ankle brachial index in asymptomatic patients. Material and Method: 150 patients were included in our study. The rates of smoking, HL, DM and HT were significantly different compared to........

Abstract: Discoloration of anterior teeth is a major concern in today's society. This can result in the cosmetic impairment of such patients which effects their social interaction with the peers. Discoloration of anterior teeth is often due to traumatic injury and its aestheticrehabilitation poses a great challenge for the dentist. The aesthetic rehabilitation of an endodontically treated tooth usually done by translucent metal free ceramic restoration is contraindicated for a heavy discoloured tooth, as this affects the shade matching of the affected tooth with that of the natural dentition. So internal bleaching technique can be utilized here to reduce the shade of the discoloured tooth crown.......
