Abstract: DLE/CCLE is a benign disorder of skin most frequently involving the face, characterized by well defined red scaly plaques of variable sizes that heal with atrophy, scarring and pigmentary changes. The histology is characteristic. Squamous cell carcinoma can rarely arise within a longstanding DLE plaque in the skin particularly over scalp, ears , lips and nose . It presents as an enlarging warty growth or ulcer. We report a case of squamous cell carcinoma which developed on lesion of discoid lupus erythematosus within a short period of time.

Abstract: Background: Urinary tract infection is one of the most common infections in children. Early diagnosis and appropriate treatment can significantly decrease late serious complications. Aim & Objective: The primary aim of this study was to see the causative organisms and their culture & sensitivity pattern, so that pediatrician can choose the most appropriate and safe antibiotic when treating a children with UTI in this area. Material and Methods: All children from 1 month to 15 years of age with culture positive urinary tract infections who were admitted to Pediatric ward from 13th April 2018 to 12th February 2019 were included. The causative organisms for urinary tract infection along with its antibiotic sensitivity pattern were retrospectively reviewed and analyzed..........

Abstract: Background: Arthroscopic anterior cruciate reconstruction has become one of the most successful surgical techniques in sports medicine however initial secure graft fixation is essential for the success of any ACL reconstruction. Objective: The study was done to evaluate the functional outcome of arthroscopic ACL reconstruction using hamstring graft fixed with endobutton for femur and interference screw and suture post for tibial fixation. Material and methods: From 2013to 2016, 30 patients underwent ACL reconstruction using hamstring graft fixed with endobutton for femur and interference screw for tibial fixation and the outcome was observed using IKDC knee score 2000..........

Abstract: The skin being the largest organ of the body, often provides a clue to the underlying systemic diseases, and hence cutaneous manifestations of systemic diseases are frequently encountered by dermatologists. The liver is the second largest organ of the body, and liver dysfunction often results in changes in the body's largest organ, the skin. The present study was aimed to study the cutaneous manifestations of chronic Liver Disease. Materials and method: this study was conducted in the tertiary care centre of Jharkhand. 100 patients were included in the study after fullfilling the exclusion and inclusion criteria. Results: 100 patients who was diagnosed.....

Abstract: Acute myocardial infarction is a major health disease in the world. Thrombolysis by fibrinolytic agents is the main treatment for myocardial infarction . Success rate of re perfusion in a case of ST elevation myocardial infarction is influenced by many factors.Among these Window period has great influence on thrombolysis outcome . In this study , the influence of Window period on the success of thrombolysis in ST elevation myocardial infarction have been studied and correlated with similar studies

Abstract: Juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma(JNA) is a benign ,richly vascularised mesenchymal neoplasm. Most commonly occurs in adolescent males. It originates mostly from the posterolateral wall of the nasopharynx and extents into the surrounding tissue. Extranasopharyngeal angiofibroma(ENA) is an uncommon tumor with only 65 cases being reported in world literature, in which maxillary sinus is the common site and nasal septum is found to be an extremely rare site. Here we report a case of 15 year old male patient with extranasopharyngeal angiofibroma arising from nasal septum. This case is being published for its rarity and unusual site of origin..

Abstract: Background: Previous epidemiological studies suggest an association between psoriasis and metabolic syndrome and risk of subclinical atherosclerosis. However, there is a paucity of data in the Indian population on these associations. Objectives: To evaluate the prevalence of metabolic syndrome in patients with chronic plaque psoriasis compared to healthy controls and to correlate the prevalence of metabolic syndrome with severity of psoriasis as well as to assess the levels of C-reactive protein as a marker of disease severity. Methods: A hospital-based cross-sectional study was performed on 100 patients with chronic plaque type psoriasis and 100 controls. Psoriasis was categorized as mild, moderate and severe based on psoriasis area and severity index (<10, 10–14 and >14, respectively) and as disease of short (<1 year), intermediate (1–3 years) and long duration (>3 years.........

Abstract: Background: The salivary glands are one of the few tissues in the body that are subjected to diverse and heterogeneous range of tumors and tumor like conditions. The relative infrequency of these tumors makes their diagnosis and management quite complicated. Fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) is a useful diagnostic procedure which has a recognized role in the evaluation of salivary gland lesions. A pre-operative diagnosis about nature of lesion, whether benign or malignant, will help in making decision about proper management of patient........

Abstract: Background: The high incidence of intraoperative nausea and vomiting in cesarean section under spinal anaesthesia is distressing to the parturients and disturbing to the surgeons by causing protrusion of abdominal viscera rendering surgery more difficult and increasing the risk of visceral injuries, aspiration being an additional hazard. Many methods have been used to reduce the incidence of nausea and vomiting but they add to cost and side effects. Intrathecal lipophilic opioids added to bupivacaine as an adjuvant have been shown to reduce incidence of nausea and vomiting, it is inexpensive has few serious side effects and is established as adjuvant.Hence could be good alternative for prophylaxis of emetic episodes in cesarean section under spinal anaesthesia, thus basis of our study...........

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between matrix metalloproteinase 9 and atrial fibrillation recurrence after catheter ablation. Background–Matrix metalloproteinase – 9 (MMP-9)is involved in extracellular matrix remodeling whichis considered to be a marker of extracellular collagen degradation. Methods– An enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay prior to a radiofrequency catheter ablation (RFA) procedure was used for measuring the serum level of MMP-9 in 210 patients: 80 patients without history of atrial fibrillation (AF) and 80 patients with idiopathic AF (paroxysmal AF – 30, persistent AF – 32, long-standing AF – 35 and permanent AF – 33). Their relationship with intraoperative efficacy and recurrence of AF was evaluated throughout the entire observation period...........

Abstract: Isolated corrosive antral strictures occur due to pyloroplasm. It is less common than concomitant injury to the oesophagus. However thought the pathology due to corrosives is the same, the management of isolated antral corrosive stricture is different from oesophageal strictures. We wish to present our experience in the management of isolated gastric strictures from 2008-2018. 27 patients(14 M:13 F) were described to be those with isolated gastric corrosive strictures. 14 of these patients were taken for primary procedure without any enteral access in a median of 11 weeks(range-4-360 weeks). 13 patients had enteral access (13-FJ,2-FJ+ Venting gastrostomy) done at a mean of 6.3 weeks (0.5-24 weeks). The time from EA (enteric access) to definite surgery.............
