Abstract: Objective: This Study was performed to assess the functional and radiological outcome of MIROS in the management of tibia fractures and to study the end results of benefit of MIROS with conventional treatment options (pop cast, plate and screws and nailing). Methods: In total, 25 patients with tibia fractures (proximal, middle, distal 1/3rd shaft) were treated with MIROS. Pre-operatively anteroposterior and lateral radiographs were obtained in all cases and computed tomography scans in patients with the most complex fractures.....

Abstract: Restoration of aesthetic alongwith maintenance of healthy gingival tissue is of utmost importance when treating the maxillary anterior region. Resorption of residual alveolar ridge or irregularities in soft tissue often complicate favourable relationship with the pontic, compromising the final aesthetic outcome. Various techniques were used to overcome this problem. Esthetic emergence profile was achieved in final prosthesis of all the following cases without any adverse consequences on a long term follow up. Apart from esthetics, clinically healthy, functional, and hygienic conditions can be established at ovate pontic sites if appropriate plaque control is performed.
Key words: Aesthetics, ovate pontic, receptor site, provisional restoration, emergence profile

Abstract:Background HDP-gestosis score is a risk scoring system (score 1–3) for the development of pre-eclampsia. When a pregnant woman's total score is equal to or greater than 3, she is labelled as "at risk for pre-eclampsia" and is managed accordingly. Objectives To determine relation ship between HDP gestosis score and preeclampsia....

Abstract: Background: Fractures lower end of radius are most common fractures of upper extremity, constituting 17% of all fractures & 75% of all forearm fractures. Elderly patients are at high risk because of low mineral bone density. Among all fractures of distal end of radius, about 50% of them involves the articular surface of either the radiocarpal joint or distal radio ulnar joint and displacement of the fracture fragments, impairs the articular congruity attained by the reduction technique and lead to post traumatic osteoarthritis.Extensor tendon rupture and irritation caused by implantswhen a dorsal approach is used. To prevent complications, the dorsally displaced fracture......

Abstract: Background: Effective post-operative analgesia after caesarean section (CS) is important because it facilitates early amelioration, ambulation and expedites breastfeeding. The Quadratus lumborum (QL) block is a posterior abdominal wall block not commonly practised. Very few studies have been conducted to compare the analgesia between TAP block and QL block in caesarean section under spinal anaesthesia in the Indian population. So, in our study we will compare the analgesic efficacy of QL block with TAP block in elective caesarean section under spinal anaesthesia....

Abstract: Background: Popliteal block is used to block the sciatic nerve at the popliteal fossa to anesthetize the region supplied by it, distal to the site of local anestheticadministration. Various approaches to sciatic nerve block have been described in the literature. The study aimed to compare posterior versus lateral approaches to block the sciatic nerve in the popliteal fossa. Methodology: After approval and permission from the institutional ethics committee no.MC/190/2007/Pt-11/July-2021/TH-22) 60 patients of either sex, ASA I and II, between the ages of 18-60, posted for lower limb surgeries under popliteal sciatic nerve block were selected for the study. The patientswere divided into groups A (n=30) and B (n=30) by a computer......

Abstract: Introduction Acute appendicitis is one of the most common causes of acute abdominal pain in surgical patients. After reviewing the literature, we found that negative appendectomy rates have remained consistent over the past few years. Negative appendectomy not only adds an economic burden to healthcare facilities in developing countries such as India, but also negatively impacts patients overall health. The following study was done to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of the Modified Alvarado scoring systemand its ultimate effect on mortality and morbidity of the patient....

Abstract: Introduction: Abnormal uterine bleeding is the most common presenting symptom in the gynaecology outpatient clinic (AUB). It affects about 20% women of reproductive age, and accounts for almost two thirds of all hysterectomies. However, the perimenopausal and postmenopausal age groups comprised the majority of it. Along with the usual haematological and hormonal testing, an endometrial sample may be used as its first diagnostic step in AUB. Aims and Objectives: The study was aimed to detect the frequency of various pathological conditions which can cause AUB in perimenopausal and postmenopausal women and to know the distribution of functional changes as well as malignancy causing AUB...
