Abstract: Background:Among the various treatment options available for replacing missing teethdental implants have become one of the promising tooth replacement option nowadays. Success of the implant treatment depend upon knowledge and expectation of the patient. Materials and methods:A cross sectional study was conducted among four groups (Group1- bystanders of the patient reporting to dental college, group 2-medical professionals,Group3-Govt staff and Group4-school teachers)of participants with a sample size of 150 in each group. Data regarding demographic details, awareness, source of information, knowledge and acceptance about dental implants were collected using a self-explanatoryquestionnaire. The completed questionnaires were coded and data were entered and analyzed using SPSS software......

Abstract: Purpose: To study the Quadrant wise changes in RNFL thickness within 1 week pre-operative and 1week, 1 and 3 month post-operatively in a population of clinical patients with primary open angle glaucoma undergone trabeculectomy in the Sub-Himalayan region. Methods: Patient sample size consisting of n=27 were accessed for primary open angle glaucoma. The sample population consists of adults with open anterior chamber angle and with demonstrative RNFL damage, with corresponding visual field loss. Average RNFL measurements were taken on Topcon 3D OCT-1 Maestro within a week before surgery and at 1 week, 1 and 3 month post operatively. Pre and post operative value were analyzed using Repeated Measure ANOVA with Bonferroni.....

Abstract: Background:The shortened dental arch (SDA) can be defined as the type of dentition with reduced or even absence of the molars and/or premolars. It offersan alternative treatment option that is less complicated, less time consuming and less expensive than fullreplacement, but with acceptable oral functions. Since only a few reports are available in the literature describing the attitudes among Prosthodontist towards the SDA concept. So the aim study conducted with aim to assess knowledge, practice and attitude towards shortened dental arch concept among Prosthodontists. Materials and methods: An online questionnaire with 12 close-ended questions was developed using Google forms with first segment consisted of general......

Abstract: The Novel Corona virus SARS-CoV-2, has spread around the world in the past four months, has infected more than two million people worldwide and is causing a pandemic which is killing several lakhs of people. COVID-19 caused by SARS-CoV-2 has also completely paralyzed the global economy, with the threat of bringing the world economy to a standstill. Following detection of a novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, in Wuhan in December 2019, the genetic sequence of SARS-CoV-2 was published on 11 January 2020, and this started a race globally, to be prepared for the outbreak and speed up the development of a preventive vaccine. There is no previously available vaccine for preventing a coronavirus infection. A vaccine for preventing an infectious disease has historically taken a few to several years to develop. However with worldwide efforts, and also studying previous research to develop coronavirus vaccines, a potential COVID-19 vaccine could be developed at a much faster rate. A single research institution does not have the capacity nor has all the prerequisites to develop a vaccine individually....

Abstract: The aim of this study was to evaluate the physical-chemical properties of EndoREZ endodontic sealer. In the study the properties of hardening time, solubility, dimensional changes and cement flow were divided into two groups according to the norms and tests of the American Dental Association (ADA) specification nº 57. Group 1, using a mixing tip compared to Group 2 with equal volume amounts of the pastes. It was observed that the cement EndoREZ in both groups presented similar flow between each other and according to the ADA determination (greater than or equal to 25mm). However, the cement did not set completely. The solubility and dimensional stability tests could not be performed. In view of the study, it was found that EndoREZ cement met the minimum requirement suggested by the ADA for its flow, but it was difficult to meet the specification nº57 of ADA about the hardening time, making it impossible to carry out solubility and dimensional stability tests.

Abstract: Dens invaginatus is a developmental anomaly of teeth characterized by deepening or invagination of the enamel organ in the dental papilla before calcification occurs. Such a condition is often associated with dental caries, pulpal and periodontal pathology in teeth. Wide variety of treatment options including placing sealants or filling materials as conservative protocol ranging to performing endodontic therapy of cases presenting with pulpal/periodontal pathology. This article discusses case reports of a tooth with Dens Invaginatus with emphasis on diagnosis, treatment planning for cases with invaginated teeth. The purpose of this paper is to present a clinical case report of a type III dens invaginatus, identified on maxillary left lateral incisor, wherein conventional non surgical endodontic therapy was adopted as the line of treatment

Abstract: Introduction: Dermatoses affecting the skin exhibit various morphologies such as annular, arcuate, discoid, polycyclic, reticulate, target, confluent, guttate, stellate, digitate, linear, whorled, etc. Majority of the linear lesions follow the lines of Blaschko. The appearance of these conditions is helpful in clinching the diagnosis in various disorders. This study is an observational study based on dermatoses that occur in a linear pattern in paediatric age group as linearity allures the attention of the patients and their immediate family. Materials and Methods: Inclusion criteria included patients in both sexes and those who are 17 and below 17 years of age. Exclusion criteria included Koebner's phenomenon and all patients above 17 years of age. They were clinically evaluated with......

Abstract: Background :The oral mucosa is constantly affected by various internal and external stimuli, thus it may exhibit a range of developmental disorders, irritation, inflammation, and neoplastic conditions. Localized reactive lesions include focal fibrous hyperplasia, pyogenic granuloma, peripheral giant cell granuloma and peripheral ossifying fibroma. These lesions develop as a result of trauma, microorganism, plaque, calculus, restorations and dental appliances. The purpose of this case report is to present a case of a 68 year old male patient with peripheral ossifying fibroma in the anterior maxilla and briefly review the current literature on this condition and stress the significance of discussion of a reasonable differential diagnosis, treatment and outcomes of the same.

Abstract: Veneers are conservative treatment options forunaesthetic anterior teeth. The progressive developments in the field of dental ceramics offers various options for the clinicians to create high aesthetic and functional veneers. The evolution of materials and various adhesive systems permits improvement of the patient smile and confidence of the patient. Clinicians should have complete knowledge of latest ceramic materials, their indications which will determine the success of veneers. The current article was reviewed for various parameters determining the long-term success, correct indication, and clinical limitations of veneers

Abstract: Background: More than 95% of diabetics are people with type 2 diabetes or often called non-insulin dependent diabetes which is characterized by pancreatic beta cell dysfunction leading to high blood glucose level called hyperglycemia. Hyperglycemia plays critical role in the development and progression of diabetic complication. Postprandial hyperglycemia in diabetes can be controlled by impairing the digestion of dietary carbohydrate by inhibiting α-glucosidase. The α–glucosidase inhibitors such as acarbose, miglitol, voglibose are widely used in the treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes, but the side effects associated with these compounds are a matter of keen concern. Therefore much effort has been directed to search for candidate of the α–glucosidase inhibitors with low side effect and effective from.....
